An NFC (Near Field Communication) card is a type of contactless smart card that uses short-range wireless technology to enable communication between devices when they are placed close to each other, usually within a few centimeters.
NFC cards work by utilizing radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology. They have an embedded NFC chip that can both store and transmit data. When the NFC card comes into proximity with an NFC-enabled device, such as a smartphone or a card reader, a wireless connection is established, and data can be exchanged.
Yes, NFC technology is generally considered safe for use in business cards. The technology itself has built-in security features, such as encryption and authentication protocols, to ensure that data transfers are secure and protected from unauthorized access. Additionally, the short range of NFC communication (typically a few centimeters) makes it difficult for malicious actors to intercept the data being exchanged. As with any technology, it's important to exercise caution and follow best practices for data security when programming your NFC business cards.
Yes, NFC cards are legal to use for legitimate business purposes. NFC technology is widely accepted and used for various applications, including payment systems, access control, and data transfer. As long as you're using NFC cards for lawful and ethical purposes, such as sharing contact information, promoting your business, or enhancing networking opportunities, there are no legal issues associated with their use.
If you have a smartphone, the answer is almost certainly yes. All iPhones models XR and later (September 2018) and about 90% of the Android phones have NFC enabled. Additionally, as a backup, all smartphones, both Apple and Android, have a built-in QR code scanner. Simply open up the camera and point it at the QR code located on the back of every Cardexia.io card. Click here for a complete list of compatible phones
NFC cards themselves don't require an internet connection to function. However, some applications or services accessed through NFC cards, such as opening a URL stored on the card, might require an internet connection to load the content with Cardexia.io you can simply use to share contact without internet requirement
